27 Things..
So there is this meme floating around the internet (facebook and myspace in particular) called 25 things. Speaking of memes.. what exactly is one? How do you pronounce it? Where did it come from? I am in the dark.
Anyway.. back to the 25 things. You are supposed to list 25 facts about yourself. Funny/silly/scary/weird/quirky/unique facts. So, I thought in honor of my 27th birthday, I would list 27 things about me.
27 Things:
1. I am officially a (albeit a reluctant) California girl. If you would have asked me a year ago if I thought I would be living in sunny Southern California, I probably would have laughed in your face.
Seriously.
2. One of my favourite places in California is Santa Monica. The pier in particular.
3. I love Disneyland (& world).
4. My favourite ride at Disneyland (& world) is It's A Small World. As a kid, I tortured my dad and brother with this ride. Thankfully, my mother was appreciative. As an adult, I torture my husband with it.
5. I am scared quite easily. I can't watch scary shows or movies at night. When Hubby-kun and his friends wanted to watch the Dark Knight, I made them go to the matinee and I still had nightmares about the Joker for 3 nights after. I can't even read books late at night that might scare me. After several frighteningly terrifying dreams of He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named, I try not to read after 8pm.
6. I love reading. I love reading in small spaces. Hubby-kun likes the bathroom. I prefer the closet.
7. I get incredibly sad when I am nearing the end of a book. It sounds ridiculous, but sadly, very true. I usually try to prolong getting to the last chapter for as long as possible.
8. I google websites that I already know the url. It drives Brother crazy.
9. I live with my husband and his brother. I like it. Brother and I bicker constantly, but he is one of my favourite people in the world and I love him dearly.
10. My bestie and I have been friends for almost 15 years. This still surprises me whenever I think about it. She wasn't exactly fond of me the first time we met.
11. In high school, my bestie and I would go bowling. Every. Single. Weekend. Friday night, Saturday, Sunday. Sundays were the best because it was cheap. And less crowded.
12. We also made a group of random bowling alley friends. One was an old guy with dirty fingernails. He was nice and gave us bowling tips. I never did know his name. To this day, the bestie and I still refer to him as the old guy from the bowling alley with dirty fingernails.
13. Hubby-kun and I share one vehicle. A truck. A red truck. I named him Geeoooorgio (sounds just like spelled, in case you were curious). He is very reliable and I am quite smitten.
14. I also named our GPS, Helen. She is from Britain and has the most wonderful accent. She has also met the queen (or so she says).
15. I almost tripped walking down the aisle at my wedding. A year and some change later, I almost tripped walking down the aisle at my friend's wedding.
16. Hubby-kun and I have driven cross-country twice. We didn't have time to stop anywhere and really enjoy it either time. It was still fun though.
17. I love The Office.
18. I also love Scrubs. My favorite episode is when the Janitor is putting together an air band for a competition. Turk auditions to be the lead singer to Bel Biv Devoe's Poison. At the end of the episode, they play More Than A Feeling outside the hospital.
19. I fidget.
A lot.
20. I don't like ice in my drinks.
21. I really don't like my food to touch.
22. I have some unique eating habits. My dad always made fun of the way I eat hot dogs. He calls it the inside out method. Hubby-kun is a fan of the pencil sharpener.
23. For my birthday 2 years ago, Hubby-kun took me to eat sushi. It was my first time, and I have been in love ever since.
24. I love to eat.
25. I have a thing for remembering birthdays, addresses, phone numbers, and song lyrics. Remembering anything beyond that though is quite difficult.
26. I like to sing in the car. It doesn't matter if I am alone or there are people with me. I'm pretty sure I annoy just about everyone in the car, but thus far no one has said anything. Unfortunately, we don't pick up a lot of good stations up in this valley (not to be confused with the Valley).
27. Thinking of 27 things was surprisingly quite easy.

Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday Dear CRAZY Lisa, Happy Birthday to you!
Did you like my singing?
I have to say, even though we both adore reading, we are such opposites! I have to read where I have space...I get a little involved while I read-LOL (much like others do when playing video games!) and I will practically skip over entire paragraphs just to get the end of a particularily good book!
Enjoy your special day...my girls said to tell you, "Happy Birthday!!!"
I named my GPS Mandy. Barry Manilow wrote a song about her.
Happy birthday!
